The Ernst Schering Foundation awards the Ernst Schering Foundation Art Award every two years, jointly tendered with the Kunst-Werke Berlin e.V. - Institute for Contemporary Art. The Award endowed with 10.000 € distinguishes international artists who are considered to have been the most important newcomer over the last two years in the field of fine arts.
In 2005 and 2007 the Ernst Schering Foundation Art Award has been awarded in cooperation with the Berlinische Galerie in the categories painting and sculpture.
The Ernst Schering Foundation Art Award is connected to a solo exhibition at Kunst-Werke Berlin. Additionally the prize winner will receive a monographic catalogue.
With the awarding of this prize, the Ernst Schering Foundation seeks to support the career of artists, who have already shown outstanding talent and the potential of establishing artistic standards.
It is not possible to apply as candidate for the Ernst Schering Foundation Art Award.
