Fellowships

Since the beginning of our funding activities in 2003, we have put a particular focus on supporting young artists.

Currently, the Ernst Schering Foundation awards the Deutschlandstipendium to students of arts and cultural sciences at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin.

In addition the Ernst Schering Foundation’s Eastern Europe Fellowship made it possible for young artists from Eastern Europe to spend one year at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. The Foundation also enabled highly talented young musicians from all over the world to continue their training at the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for a two-year period.

By granting fellowships, we provide young artists with the opportunity to strengthen and develop their artistic positions; at the same time, we seek to enrich the cultural and artistic scene in Berlin through international exchange and thus contribute to the city’s cultural diversity.
