The relationship between science and art is closely related to established role models, value systems, and systems of concepts. Transcending conventional ways of thinking, this volume opens up a space to relate strategies of scientific and artistic research to each other and explore thematic interfaces and overlaps. “ArteFakte” gathers a variety of topics and essays from both science and art. Contributors include Beatrice von Bismarck, Horst Bredekamp, Lorraine Daston, Erika Fischer-Lichte, Hannah Hurtzig, Bruno Latour, Hans-Jörg Rheinberger, Tomás Saraceno, and many others. The different positions from both disciplines hold the potential to create trans-disciplinary formats for the negotiation of knowledge, thus opening up new perspectives on social issues.
